Well, Waltham's commitment to us Friday was so fine ( Edna, Wayne and Joe) that we really looked forward to returning to them Saturday. Wow, 82 year old Edna had more spirit and zest for life than a lot of thirty something's that I know. Tom B. chaired per usual. Joe D, Tom G, Jimmy, Otto, Rocky and 142 sober years in the cars. They have a cozy meeting hall, knotty pine, fine sound, good cookies...good time.
We are an open speaker AA meeting (Established April 20, 1964 ) that meets every Friday night from 8:00-9:00 PM. Come early (doors are usually open and coffee brewed by around 7pm) for some food and fellowship. Find us at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Central Park at 209 Union Street, Clinton, MA ( make your way from the front down to the basement) Directions

God Bless your efforts
Almost Turkey time. Seems like a lot of the great ones have passed this year, including our own John T. , "get-a-job" Henry from Worcester and Larry W. from Townsend and many others...seems like frequent wakes and funerals. Last Wednesday our group had a commitment to 4 Corners group in Worcester. We had a great showing which would have made John T. proud, I know I was. I didn't think we would break 300 years of sobriety on a commitment for a good long time after John's passing in May, but we had 12 speakers. Little Jimmy played group mathematician and tallied us up. 10 people with more than 24 years, Peter K at 9 and Tom G with 4.5. Although Tom was the young one, he was the most dedicated. Rushing from class to make the commitment, his car died on 290. He left it and walked 1/2 hour to the meeting and spoke last. We had 8 speakers get up and the 4 waiting in the wings had 92 years between them. (Tom B.,Lil Jim, One-Day-Charles, Mark D., Paul L., Otto, Katie, Peter K., Paul M., Dennis A., Rocky and Tom G.)
The grand total was 312 years, one day at a time. John T. would deliver his "God Bless your Efforts" line, no doubt.

"Old Soldier" Kim and Pat on duty
On the way back from commitment to Athol on snowy icy night, we stopped at the house of the local Christmas wacko (every community has one), and snapped this picture....Merry Christmas to all our friends at Central Park and extended family (all the way west to Duffy in Chula Vista California and south to Walter in Florida and Moses on the north country)

More MP3 AA talks posted
Duffy gave me a pile of cassette recordings to digitize. Meanwhile in cleaning out old stuff came across other treasures on cassette like Bob B.'s talk at Townsend's 2nd anniversary in 1978...a couple rough spots with microphone but this recording is mostly quite clear and vintage Bob B. long version around 57 minutes. Have started with Dan's box as well and attack another one from time to time....these are all dumped in the local mp3 folder on this site (see link "Audio MP3 files" ) under the links list, located under the calendar.
